NorthStar Alarm Caps Off a Successful Year With Day of Service
NorthStar Alarm capped off its sales season this month and celebrated its success by giving back to the community in a day of service with a variety of organizations, including: United Way of Utah County, Habitat for Humanity, and Orem City. Over 100 eager employees lined up at the NorthStar corporate office early Saturday morning to receive an assignment for the day. In total, around 300 service hours were given from the group. "There isn't a better way to celebrate our success as a company than gathering together to give back to our community," said Chris Dinehart, Sales Support Manager. "This is a long-standing tradition that I'm proud to be a part of." Employees came from near and far to take part in the service projects. More than half of the group flew in from around the country to help. NorthStar has made giving back to the community at the end of the season a priority and tradition for more than five years now. The largest group of volunteers helped clean and prepare the Habitat for Humanity Restore Stores for incoming furniture donations to raise money to build homes for those in need. Another group of volunteers helped color and put together education kits for the United Way of Utah County organization. The third group prepared a local park for its annual Christmas tree lighting celebration by raking up leaves and testing lights. "I helped out with the Orem City park clean-up project and honestly enjoyed every minute of it," said Kevin Wood, sales representative of the year at NorthStar Alarm.
